WHAT:                  Nearly 100 individuals will charge the ocean at La Jolla Shores on Sunday March 9, 2008, as Life Rolls On Foundation in association with Surf Diva hosts “They Will Surf Again” (TWSA), a powerful afternoon that enables wheelchair-bound individuals to experience the freedom of riding a wave through the assistance of adaptive surfboards and able-bodied volunteers.

“Surf Diva is producing this event for Life Rolls on because we feel that everyone should have the opportunity to feel the freedom of surfing regardless of physical ability.  It comes back to our motto, “The best surfer in the water is the one having the most fun!” explains Izzy Tihanyi, President and co-owner of Surf Diva.

“What’s so special about TWSA,” explains Seth Rosenzweig, Program Director for Life Rolls On, “is this program resonates with people with and without spinal cord injury.”  He continues, “Everyone faces a personal obstacle of some kind and TWSA demonstrates what is ‘possible’ even in situations that may appear impossible.”

13-year-old ‘They Will Surf Again’ participant and San Diego native Patrick Ivison agrees. “I never thought I’d be able to surf because of my injury,” he says.   “But now I know that my injury can’t hold me back from surfing or any of my other dreams.”

Established in 2004, They Will Surf Again is a no-cost quality of life program made possible through donations by Global Surf Industries and the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) as well as countless volunteers.  TWSA has welcomed participants from as far as Canada, Texas and New York and have added additional program sites in Florida and North Carolina due to its overwhelming popularity.

Surf Diva will also be hosting a Retail Therapy Night on Saturday March 8th from 6pm – 9pm.  The event will take place at the Surf Diva Boutique (2160 Avenida de la Playa, La Jolla, CA 92037), where 20% of all sales that night will go to benefit the Life Rolls On Foundation.
