Surf Diva brings in new footwear line

 

Introducing Sanük Sandals at Surf Diva

 

La Jolla, California – December 17, 2007 – Surf Diva is pleased to announce the introduction of Sanük sandals at the Surf Diva Boutique.  Established in 1999 by Jeff Kelley, the word Sanük is the Thai term for ‘pursuit of happiness,’ characterized by the gumby-like icon on its logo.

 

Kelley was a Huntington Beach grom who made his first commercial sandals out of indoor and outdoor carpet!  Currently based at Cardiff by the Sea, Kelley came up with his ‘Barefoot Un-technology’ idea for shoes as he ran up the stairs to his work place barefooted one day, and realized how different his feet felt without any additional support from his runners.  With that, he created a line of shoes; he calls the ‘Sidewalk-surfers,’ a sandal-shoe hybrid, which gives the comfort of a sandal and the appearance of a shoe.

 

With over 135 styles of sandals and shoes designed for the global surf and water community, “Sanük has been a great addition to the Surf Diva Boutique, introducing shoes for men, women, and children!” comments Megan Pratt, Surf Diva’s Shop Manager.
