            Marine Room to cater at Surf Diva!

 

La Jolla, California – October 14, 2008 – Surf Diva is pleased to announce that renowned Chef Bernard Guillas will be sampling a menu of his delicacies at the Surf Diva boutique during FALL FEST on Thursday, October 16, 2008 from 5-8pm! 

 

Chef Bernard Guillas, executive chef of The Marine Room will serve up a pastry storm throughout the duration of Fall Fest.  The Divas are excited to showcase Chef Guillas’ amazing talent!  “We are credibly honored to welcome Chef Bernard at Surf Diva.  Divas love divine desserts, and Chef Bernard is our hero!” comments Coco Tihanyi, President & CFO of Surf Diva Surf School & Boutique.  Chef Augie Saucedo will be sampling a surprise dish next to the Surf Diva boutique at OEX Dive & Kayak Center.

 

Award-winning Chef Bernard Guillas joined La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, Inc. in 1994, overseeing all menus, wine lists, and special events for the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, Shores Restaurant, and Marine Room. Guillas was voted 2004 Chef of the Year by Chef Magazine and 2001 “Best Chef in San Diego” by the San Diego California Restaurant Association. Guillas is active in supporting his local community, participating in SOS Taste of the Nation, Celebrities Cook for Cancer and Mama’s Kitchen. Guillas is the spokesperson for the Macy’s School of Cooking.  

 

Established in 1996 by twin sisters Izzy and Coco Tihanyi, Surf Diva has introduced thousands of women from all over the world to the sport and spirit of surfing and is internationally recognized as the world’s leading surf school.  With Izzy as the ‘Surf’ and Coco the ‘Diva’, the Surf Diva boutique opened its doors in 2004 and has been selling a variety of fashion forward and functional surf gear ever since.  Surf Diva also designs, markets, and sells its own line of apparel.  The line is enhanced by creative embellishments to catch the Diva’s true independent and adventurous spirit.

 

Fall Fest Tickets are on sale NOW for $5/person, including a ticket to join our raffle to win some great prizes!  Prizes include gift certificates from local restaurants, boutiques, and surf & kayak schools.  Bring your family, friends, and colleagues to join us for a “Party on la Playa”.  Kids & adults are encouraged to wear their Halloween Costumes during the evening.
