Surf Diva Paddles out to celebrate World Oceans Day

La Jolla, California – May 25, 2010– Grab your paddleboard, surfboard, body board and join us for story time in our floating reading room in the beautiful Pacific Ocean!  Surf Diva is stoked to host the local surf community for a paddle out to conduct the reading of “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11:30am at La Jolla Shores to commemorate World Ocean Day. 

“One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” will be read all around San Diego to bring awareness to the annual World Oceans Day (on June 8th) and celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dr. Seuss’ Books. Check-in time for those ready to paddle out with Surf Diva will be at 11am in the Surf Diva Boutique.  From there surfers can meet our Surf Diva instructors at the beach and everyone will paddle out to read a laminated copy of the book in the ocean!

World Oceans Day is celebrated every year all over the world to make the public aware of the importance of protecting the world’s oceans and the crucial role the ocean plays in our lives.  The 2010 World Oceans Day is themed, “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” to honor former La Jolla resident, Theodore Geisel and to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Dr. Seuss books.
