Fun, Active, Invigorating!
Beginner and Intermediate levels
Surf Diva Surf School has taught thousands of women to surf from every corner of the globe since it first opened in La Jolla in 1996. Our most popular program is the Women's Weekend Surf Clinic, held every weekend, year round at La Jolla Shores, close to San Diego, California.
Surf Diva's Weekend Surf Clinic for women is the perfect introduction to wave riding and the surfing lifestyle. The group setting makes the Surf Diva Women's Surf Clinic a really fun activity to share with friends, colleagues, family or to join in on your own. If you have never surfed before or you want to refresh your skills, this is the perfect course to get your feet wet!
The clinic takes place every Saturday and Sunday for two hours each day. You'll learn everything you need to feel comfortable and competent in the ocean. Our team of expert instructors is amongst the world's best and they will cover every aspect of surfing from ocean safety and surf etiquette to paddling, pop-ups and wave riding skills. Surf Diva will take care of all of the equipment, too. You will be provided with a foam surfboard, wetsuit ($5 rental per day) and rash guard. All you will need is a positive attitude and the willingness to have lots of fun!
In addition to weekend clinics for beginners, Surf Diva also offers a more advanced surf clinic for women who have already learned the basics at one of our women's weekend surf clinics.
At the end of every clinic, Surf Diva presents each of our Surf Diva Graduates with a Surf Diva Graduate Diploma and you will be given 20% off at the world famous Surf Diva Surf Boutique! So, grab your bikini and sunscreen and join Surf Diva for the most fun weekend you'll ever have!

"Surf Divas is the best... cool place for chicadees to learn how to get up on a board. I only took their weekend seminar but it was enough to teach the basics and a great way to spend 2 days in the water with your girl pals. And even if you are in some kind of decent athletic shape, it will kick your ass since it's using muscles you probably never use. Great female instructors and a cool atmosphere, all ages, etc...." ---Margot
The group of ladies made my weekend, the instructors rocked (especially Amanda, poor thing, I was in her group). But, heading back to Los Angeles, sand in places it shouldn't be, and unable to brush my hair because I can't lift my arms, there is a big smile on my face.
"I am writing to thank you for the most fun I have had in a gazillion years. My daughter and I just took lessons from Elizabeth, Amanda (?) and Veronica (June 6th and 7th), and got our CD pics today. To say I am over the moon with joy would be an understatement. So what that my sinuses thought the ocean was one huge Neti pot? So what if I drank half the Atlantic ocean? Who cares that the ocean floor and I collided with predictable frequency? Every moment was a pleasant thrill.
You guys are everything you advertise yourselves to be: fun, professional, skilled, personable, encouraging, patient, and totally addictive. I certainly want more water time, more surfing, and more fun!!
Thank you so much for delivering everything I had hoped for my first surfing experience. You haven't seen the last of me! --Judith Duryea
